TIPS - Black Walnut Cracker can do

1)  How To Remove Walnuts Stains From Hands?

Possible soluton:  Learning how to remove walnut stains from hands  as well as anywhere else on the body is a simple process. While black walnuts are fun to eat, cracking them can leave behind  stains on your hands. Best of all, you don't need any expensive skin care products to do the job.
Things You Need:
Lemon Juice
Cooking Oil
Soap and Water

Towel

Wash your hands thoroughly, using a good quality soap. This will help remove any residue that may be adding to the stain. Once your hands are clean, it will be much easier to determine how much of a walnut stain you have to deal with.
Apply lemon juice. You can squeeze the juice of one lemon or use  roughly a half-cup of commercial lemon juice. Liberally apply the juice  to the walnut stains, taking time to work the juice into the skin  surface. The acid will be to lighten the skin, restoring a more natural appearance. Depending on the severity of the walnut stain, it may  take two or three applications to see a difference.
Follow up with a round of cooking oil. Olive, peanut, or vegetable  will all do the job. Rub the oil into the stained skin, gently but  firmly. Not only will the oil help to leech the remaining stain out of the  skin, it will also help restore a proper balance of moisture to the  hands.
Wash up. After removing the walnut stains, wash your hands with soap  again. This will remove any traces of the oil while still leaving a faint scent of lemon. Dry your hands thoroughly, then get  back to enjoying those walnuts that you cracked earlier.
If you have dry skin, omit the use of the lemon juice. The acid  content may cause the stained area to dry out even further. Move on to applying the cooking oil. Keep in mind that without using the lemon  juice, it may take several rounds of the oil to remove walnut stains  from hands and other areas

2) How long do green black walnuts take to dry before I take the hulls off? How do you prevent worms from getting in the hulls?

Answer: The green hulls need to be removed immediately. The worms in  the hulls wont hurt them but hulls are deteriorating the nutmeat everyday they are on. After hulls are removed clean them best you  can as described in our videos. (You need to watch all our videos. very helpful) After cleaning let dry for about 2 weeks and  they should be ready to crack.

3) Other tip for processing

I have done  this multiple times and it seems as though 20 minutes boiling and then  letting them cool works really well. Less boil time and my results are not as good.  I must have a version of black  walnuts that this is perfect for.  It seems as though the nuts are soft enough to come out of the shell without any breaking versus when I  just soak them they do not get quite as pliable.  I think the boiling softens the outer shell but not the infrastructure that surrounds  the nuts. That way, when you crack the nut the inner structure brakes  and it does not damage the nut.   After I do this I always soak the nuts  in a salt brine overnight and then dehydrate them for 10 to 12 hours.

Footnote: The boiling time will vary according to thickness of the  shell. May take much more than 20 minutes. Put 15 or 20  in and remove  one every 5 minutes after the initial 20 min.

Footnote: In constant wet weather they will mildew. Caution and try in your climate. black walnut cracker macadamia cracker
