Best Walnut crack shears
These shears are the best one I have ever used in shelling black walnuts.
Walnut snippers
These little snippers are perfect for getting large pieces of the nuts. I enjoyed them so much I purchased some for friends.
Excellent
I love the shears. The shears and nut cracker is one of the best products I have ever bought. Very happy with my purchase
Shears
My husband liked the size of them and he’s been cracking walnuts. We had a lot this year on the farm, but so far two pair have had the tips break off. He is still using the third pair.
Good quality shears
Excellent cheers would not consider doing walnuts without them although I still use a wire cutter for walnuts larger than 2 and 1/2 in because their shells are very very thick I have found that I am getting very nice complete pieces of the Walnut when I use these shears but highly recommend them
Walnut pliers
They seem to hold up better and not break like the red ones
Great tool at a great price!
This nipper has a vastly improved harder handle material. The one that came with my cracker was I'm sure an older one with a rubbery handle material that the metal poked its way through. I've also noticed that the new shears are sourced from Japan, almost always guaranteeing high quality.
Well built. Works great but there is a learning curve.
Grandpa's Goody Getter
If you watch the videos how to use shears, you will do well.
Shear’s
The shears are a must have, you can precisely snip out large and small pieces. The amount of meat I have recovered is far more better than any pick will do.
One broke but the other two are still going strong
Didn’t know walnut shells could be so hard!!
Grandpa's Goody Getter
I suggest you watch the video about how to use shear properly. Link: https://www.grandpasgoodygetter.com/pages/how-to-use-shear-properly https://www.grandpasgoodygetter.com/pages/broken-shears-what-to-do https://www.grandpasgoodygetter.com/pages/shears-on-walnut-nut-shells Also try to avoid twisting your hand to snip. If you twist your hand, it might break off but unofficially. Just keep straight while you snip the shells. The problem is your nuts might be too hard to crack. Try this method. However, you need to soak them for at least 3 or 4 days to let the moisture penetrate the shell and soften the nutmeats. It can take as much as 7 or 8 days according to how thick the shell is. Then just let them dry to the touch and go ahead and get cracking. When the nuts have been out of the hull for about two weeks they are at their best stage for cracking and the soaking simply duplicates that condition Please watch our videos and written info on nut preparation. Maybe a good idea to view all of our helpful videos. You are going to like the results when you take these steps. Also important to keep grease on cam shaft and upper ram every few buckets
shears very sharp and strong
i was pleasantly surprised how well they worked for such delicate/precise but hard work
Great to clip black walnut shells
I love the strength and durability of these clippers. I got one included with the goodie getter, but wanted more for family and friends to use while we're shelling. Very durable, have used the first one over 15 hours of just clipping I'm sure. The white covering wore off, but I still use, and will probably pad with padded tape, since the clippers are so strong. Makes basically an impossible job easy. Excellent tool,
ABSOLUTELY ON THE SPOT SERVICE
Love the shears.
Shears
Love the product, I guess they just break a little to often. Love the goody getter!
the White Shears
Very nice, helps a lot. I'm glad I got the 3 pack in case my son's can help sometimes.
Shears
Great deal and so far haven’t broken any hold up better than the other ones
Love these little shears! My husband and I don't just use them for the pecans and walnuts. (You can't find anything that does as good a job as these) We don't want to use any other but these good quality little shears.
Nuts!
I am new at this nut harvesting. I used the shears with my grandchildren. They are easy to use, but like many other things, this can be a tedious task. These shears make cutting through black walnut shells doable.
Shears work great
Had original pair of shears. Able to use on 2 onion bags full of walnuts. One tooth finally broke. Pkg of 3 shears arrived. Able to finish last onion bag of nuts. They work great!
White Handle Shears......
Dennis, I don't have any black walnuts on hand at this time to try out the white handle shears. I have cracked all of last years crop. However, I like the feel of the white shears in my hand.....not as slippery as the red handle shears and I think the white shears seem to be a bit heftier...stronger. At this time I don't think I can give you an evaluation as the the performance of the white shears without using them . Also, the plastic end piece not only protects the tip of the shears when not in use....but also protects my hands and fingers from cuts and punctures. I like that. I am seeing a few new walnuts on the ground. From what I can see in the trees, it doesn't look like I will have much of a crop this year...but I will have enough to try out the White Shears and will let you know. Sincerely, Joe Wurth
